Apple's iPhone event usually means price cuts for last year's models in India, but this time around, the company has flipped the script. Alongside the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone Duo at its "Surprise and Shine" event, Apple has quietly hiked prices across its existing iPhone lineup.
iPhone 16 Price Hike in India

The iPhone 16 has taken one of the biggest hits in percentage terms. The 128 GB variant, which used to retail at Rs 69,900, now costs Rs 89,900, a jump of Rs 20,000. That's a significant increase for a phone that's now two generations old and it puts the iPhone 16 uncomfortably close to what the iPhone 17 costs.

iPhone 17e Price Hike in India

Apple's more affordable iPhone 17e hasn't been spared either. The 256 GB model has gone up from Rs 64,900 to Rs 79,900, which is a Rs 15,000 increase. Meanwhile, the 512 GB variant now costs Rs 1,04,900, up from Rs 84,900, making it a Rs 20,000 hike.

iPhone Air Price Hike in India

The Apple iPhone Air has seen the steepest revisions of the lot. Here's how the pricing has changed across all three storage options:
- iPhone Air 256 GB: Gone up from Rs1,02,900 to Rs 1,49,900 (up by Rs 47,000)
- iPhone Air 512 GB: Gone up from Rs1,39,900 to Rs 1,74,900 (up by Rs 35,000)
- iPhone Air 1 TB: Gone up from Rs1,59,900 to Rs 2,24,900 (up by Rs 65,000)
The top-end 1 TB model's Rs 65,000 hike is the largest single price jump across Apple's entire lineup this cycle. This effectively repositions the ultra-slim iPhone Air as a much more premium purchase than it was at launch.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 price in India has also been hiked after the iPhone 18 Pro launch.
With the Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival sales expected later this month and into early October, it may be worth holding off on a purchase if you can wait for those discounts to kick in.
