After OnePlus started a surprise rollout of OxygenOS 16 Beta for select OnePlus flagships, Oppo is now following suit. The brand has started pushing a surprise ColorOS 16 Beta update as a part of its open beta program for select Oppo Find X8 and Reno 14 users in select countries.
Oppo starts ColorOS 16 Open Beta Program in India
Oppo announced in its community posts that the ColorOS 16 Beta update is rolling out for Find X8, X8 Pro and Reno 14. Users in India, Malaysia and Indonesia can apply to get early access to new and upcoming ColorOS 16 features. The registration window is now open and closes on October 13, 2025.

According to the announcement, the ColorOS 16 beta is currently limited and is only available to select users. Oppo requests that users update their eligible devices to the following versions for quick access:
- Oppo Find X8 Pro – CPH2659_15.0.0.860
- Oppo Find X8 – CPH2651_15.0.0.860
- Oppo Reno 14 – CPH2737_15.0.2.602 or CPH2737_15.0.2.502
To check for eligibility and apply for the Beta, users can navigate to Settings > About device > Beta Program and fill in the required information. Once the application is approved by Oppo, the update can be downloaded from About Device > System update.

For those unaware, the ColorOS 16 launch date is set for October 16, 2025, in China. Besides the Reno 14 series and Find X8 series, there are a host of ColorOS 16-supported devices that are expected to receive the update by the end of 2025.
With the ColorOS 16 Beta program expanding to more countries, users can try out the new features and report bugs and inconsistencies to bolster and speed up the stable update's release.
