Realme has opened the doors to ColorOS 17 Beta for its Realme GT 7 series users in India. The update is a part of Realme's early access program, which allows developers and enthusiasts to try out the update before its release to the masses.
Access to ColorOS 17 Beta is now available on the Realme GT 7 and GT 7 Dream Edition. The recruitment window is extremely brief, remaining open only from October 9 through October 12, 2026.
During this period, experienced users with a core understanding of flashing Android custom ROMs and log capturing can enrol their eligible Realme phones directly through the software update menu in their system settings.
Before enrolling, users must ensure their smartphone is on firmware version RMX5061_16.0.10.500 (EX01). Additionally, the phone must be unrooted with a locked bootloader, have at least 15 GB of free storage and have over 60% battery capacity.
Once submitted, users need to wait for approval. If Realme deems a user eligible, they should see the update starting October 15, 2026, in the software updates section.
While installing the beta will not wipe existing user data, those who encounter severe bugs and wish to roll back to the stable build will face a complete factory reset. Once rolled out, users should be able to test all ColorOS 17 features and report any bugs they come across.
Realme has yet to confirm the timeline for the stable ColorOS 17 release. However, there are a host of ColorOS 17-eligible devices expected to receive the update later this year, including the flagship GT8 series, the upper mid-range Realme 16 Pro series and a host of Realme P4 series smartphones.
More Realme devices should be added to the Beta rollout as time progresses. The stable update is expected to roll out sometime in November or December 2026, so stay tuned.
