Samsung's next flagship Exynos 2700 chipset could give Qualcomm a serious run for its money. According to a new report, the upcoming Exynos 2700 has outperformed Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 in internal tests conducted by Samsung in China.
Exynos 2700 Reportedly Outperforms Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
According to a report from South Korea's EBN Economy and its internal sources, the Exynos 2700 claimed victory over the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. While the exact numbers are unknown, the processor scored around 13,000 points in multi-core.
In comparison, Samsung's tests revealed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max scored close to 11,000 points in multi-core, allowing the Exynos 2700 to beat it in on-paper performance.

If Samsung's testing is anything to go by, it gives the Exynos 2700 a commanding 20% lead. Even in Geekbench 7.0, the Exynos reportedly holds a 15% multi-core advantage. Additionally, the processor also outpaces Qualcomm's Adreno 850 counterpart by a whopping 20%.
While this sounds like great news for Samsung, we'd hold our horses until we can put both of them side by side to the test. This is because internal numbers are unverified, and it's impossible to know how Exynos 2700 handles thermal throttling and power efficiency during sustained daily use.
Besides, going by Samsung's previous pre-launch Exynos test data, not all of them passed the test of time and Qualcomm almost always took the lead. Therefore, we'd realistically take this information with a grain of salt.
Exynos 2700 is expected to power the Samsung Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. Although the Ultra model was previously expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, recent rumours suggest Samsung may switch to Exynos 2700 on the Galaxy S27 Ultra due to excessive heat generation.
We also have rumours that the standard Galaxy S27 will start with 8 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Pro batteries surfaced online recently, suggesting that the launch is on track.
Considering Samsung plans to stick to its February launch cadence, we should start hearing more in the coming months, so stay tuned.
