Google is adding new capabilities to its AI Mode feature that it announced not too long ago. It brings Google's latest Pro AI model, makes researching topics much easier and also saves time.
Google has started rolling out Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Search in AI Mode. Both features are available for users subscribed to Google's AI Pro and AI Ultra plans. The firm is also adding a new agentic feature, which brings AI-powered calling to local businesses.

Gemini 2.5 Pro boasts advanced reasoning and excels at maths and coding, so users can expect their queries to be answered with better precision when using AI Mode. Deep Search helps research topics by doing multiple searches to gather information and generate comprehensive reports, ultimately saving users lots of time.
To switch to Gemini 2.5 Pro, users would need to click on AI Mode and select Gemini 2.5 Pro from the dropdown menu. The agentic feature makes it easier for users to search for businesses around them.
Google explains it with an example of a search “pet groomers near me” where a “Have AI check pricing” option will appear. When a user taps on it, the agent asks a few questions like the type of animal, current location and phone number, and the services they're looking for. It will then send the user a curated list of businesses that fit the bill via their preferred mode of communication.

Deep Search via Gemini 2.5 Pro and the new Agentic Business Search feature are now rolling out for AI Pro and AI Ultra plan users in the US. Google recently expanded its AI Mode to India, but there's currently no word on when (or if) these features will arrive in the subcontinent.
Google recently rolled out a free one-year AI Pro subscription for students in India with perks like Veo 3, which the firm also recently released for AI Pro users in the subcontinent.
