Google announced Rambler during the Android Show 2026 edition, and it's finally here with the Pixel 11 series launch. It's a Gemini-powered voice dictation feature that builds on Google's existing Assistant Voice Typing feature in Gboard, promising a massive overhaul of how users can dictate and draft messages on their phones.

Rambler Finally Arrives with the Pixel 11 Series

Powered by Gemini Intelligence, Rambler acts as a real-time editor built directly into Gboard. Standard voice-to-text tools could be quite rigid in terms of transcribing every single stutter, pause, or backtrack. Rambler changes that by using the Gemini Nano v3 model for Gemini Intelligence to clean up messy dictation on the fly.

It intuitively identifies and deletes filler words like "um" or "uhh," while formatting your jumbled, natural speech into polished text. You can simply speak your mind, review the clean output, and hit send. No texting required.

Besides, the tool goes beyond simple audio transcription, thanks to on-device AI. Rambler features deep screen-context awareness, meaning it understands exactly what conversation you are looking at.

It can adapt its writing to help users match their unique writing style, allowing them to instantly draft, refine, or rewrite messages. Google says it's like having a dedicated creative partner right on your keyboard to ensure you say exactly what you mean.

While Rambler stands out as a great addition to Google's ever-expanding AI suite, there are a few limitations at launch. The tool is restricted to users aged 18 and older, and it is currently only available on Gboard in select regions and languages.

Notably, Google has indicated that heavier utilisation of these advanced writing capabilities might require an active subscription in the future. While the brand has yet to expand on the upcoming paid tier and the tools that will be included in it, Rambler will be exclusive to the Pixel 11 series for the time being.
