Google has officially announced a significant expansion of its Pixel call Assist features, with several updates to soon roll out to users in India. The announcement confirms that long-awaited features like Call recording, Advanced Scam detection and Call screening are coming to Pixel users in India.
Scam Detection, Call Screening and more for Pixel phones
Google announced via its official blog post that it's bringing Scam Detection in India to help protect against fraudulent calls. The feature uses Gemini Nano to alert users if it detects that the opposite party is trying to scam them.

Pixel users have been asking for Call recording for years and that could finally happen. Google is expanding call recording to all countries on Pixel 6 and newer models and the rollout will gradually reach all devices this year itself.
Furthermore, owners of Pixel 10 in India will be the first to experience Call Screening, which will initially support both English and Hindi. Google also revealed that it's developing a unique translation feature for Call screening in India to help users who don't speak the same language. Besides, Call Notes are also coming to the subcontinent.

The new features also extend to cars, with both Call screening and Call Notes being integrated into Android Auto later this year. This should allow drivers to safely screen calls and receive summaries directly on their vehicle's display.
Lastly, Google also talks about Magic Cue, Live Translate, Material 3 Expressive features and Calling Cards, which were all rolled out a month ago. There's also a new Take a Message feature, which will separate missed or declined calls from spam and filter out spam messages.
The Pixel experience in India has been lacking due to the absence of Pixel-exclusive features. With Call screening and recording soon rolling out, Google may finally break the exclusivity of other features and bring them to the country soon. We will be at the forefront covering them, so stay tuned!
