Apple has released iOS 27 developer beta 6, the latest build in its ongoing beta cycle following iOS 27 developer beta 5, which rolled out earlier this month with updated app icons and new Siri AI voice options.
Unlike previous beta builds, this one arrived a full week after its predecessor rather than the usual gap. This suggests Apple could now shift to weekly beta releases instead of quarterly updates, as it enters the final stretch of testing ahead of iOS 27’s public rollout in September.
What's New in iOS 27 Developer Beta 6

The latest iOS developer beta update leans light on new features and heavier on fixes and polish for iPhones.
Apple has resolved a Pinned Messages interface bug that was present in developer beta 5, where the pinned conversation UI wasn't displaying correctly. Testers on the MacRumors Forums have confirmed the fix is working as expected.
Beyond Apple's own release notes, users on the iOSBeta sub-Reddit have also reported some bug fixes:
- A bug which caused the native Mail app to crash when dragging mails
- The top inch(ish) of Safari wouldn't accept inputs in the last beta
- The Spotlight (and Siri AI) menu now shows below the text input field once it's triggered
- Long pressing the App Store icon from Spotlight or the App Library and clicking one of the submenu items no longer causes the App Store app icon to show up on your Home Screen
Apart from this, a bunch of other bugs have been addressed in Apple's official iOS 27 developer beta 6 release notes. So, you can take a look at that.
For context, iOS 27 is one of Apple's most AI-centric updates in years. It's built around the overhauled Siri AI, which brings richer conversations, personal context awareness, on-screen understanding and deeper app-level actions across the system.
It also introduces a dedicated Siri app and a new Siri-powered Camera mode tied to Visual Intelligence. iOS 27 also brings a refined Liquid Glass design with a new transparency slider for adjusting how translucent the system UI looks.

Apple Intelligence features are also expanding into apps like Photos, Safari, Mail, Messages and Shortcuts as part of the same update.
Now, if you want the best taste of this update, the latest iOS 27 developer beta 6 is available for enrolled developers. It can be installed by heading over to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and selecting the iOS 27 Developer Beta option.
As with any beta software, users should expect the usual rough edges, including possible bugs, reduced battery life and app compatibility issues.
iOS 27 supports the iPhone 11 and later, along with the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer. However, Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features remain limited to more recent, AI-capable iPhones.
Apple is expected to continue refining iOS 27 through the rest of August 2026. Meanwhile, the stable release is most likely landing in September alongside this year's new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
