The accessory, officially called the iPhone 17 Pro Max "Au 99.99 Gold" case, comes in multiple weight options, allowing buyers to choose how much gold they want. Unlike gold-plated or gold-coloured cases commonly seen in the segment, JD is offering investment-grade gold, positioning it as both a functional phone case and a high-value asset. 

The pricing itself scales directly with weigh and here's a rundown of it:

At the top end, the 100-gram variant approaches Rs 14,66,500, making it several times more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro Max itself. Promotional images showcase a minimalist gold slab design with precise cutouts for the camera module and engraved weight markings, visually reinforcing the idea that the case doubles as a portable gold asset. 

However, sadly, the iPhone 17 Pro Max pure gold cases are limited to the Chinese market, with no indication of international availability. There are also some strict restrictions around returns, likely due to fluctuations in gold prices and include certification to verify the gold's purity. 

While luxury phone cases are nothing new, JD's approach stands out for its emphasis on pure gold rather than decorative finishes.
