Fresh off the launch of the Lava Agni 4 5G last week, Lava has already started teasing its next device, the Lava Play Max. The brand will position it as a gaming smartphone with eye-catching looks, which won't burn a whole in the pocket.
Lava Play Max will boast a 50 MP main camera
In an official teaser video released on X, Lava showcased the Play Max with the tagline "Power your gameplay", suggesting it will be a budget-friendly gaming phone. It also showcases a dual-camera setup at the rear with the text "50 MP AI camera" written just underneath.

While that's unfortunately the only information the official teaser reveals, according to tipster Paras Guglani on X, the Lava Play Max could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. Besides, it's also expected to feature a Vapour Chamber to keep things cool.
Another Lava device with the Dimensity 7300 is the Lava Play Ultra 5G, and as per the leaked specifications, the Play Max could sit right below the Play Ultra.
The tipster also revealed the phone boasts a 6.72-inch 120Hz display, although they didn't reveal the display technology. Besides, it could arrive with up to 8 GB RAM and Android 15. Collectively, the phone could end up costing around the ballpark of Rs 12,000, placing it in the budget segment.

Design-wise, the leak points to two colour options – Black with a patterned back and a plain White version. The official teaser also hints at a unique design element around the vertical dual-camera module, which may feature RGB-style lighting.
However, we suggest you take the leaks with a grain of salt. With the teaser campaign now kick-started, an official launch date is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. While Lava is yet to give out an official launch date, we expect the Lava Play Max to launch by the end of 2025.
