Unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit, the Motorola Signature 27 is among the first phones to run on Qualcomm's newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The Lenovo-owned brand is calling it the most advanced smartphone it has ever built.
A New Naming Era and a Real Flagship Chipset
The Motorola Signature 27 marks a return to true flagship silicon for Motorola. The original Motorola Signature launched on the step-down Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 earlier this year. Even the brand's most expensive Motorola Razr Fold hasn't gone beyond that chipset.
The Signature 27 changes that by adopting Qualcomm's Extreme-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Motorola says this unlocks stronger on-device AI, smoother gaming, faster downloads and improved camera processing. This is also aided by a six-antenna setup for faster connectivity.
To keep that extra power in check, Motorola is pairing the chipset with a reworked ArcticMesh cooling system. This is a 3D vapour chamber that's 40% larger than before, combined with diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal and a copper mesh layer.
Also, the Motorola Signature 27 is the second phone in the brand's Signature lineup and it kicks off a new naming scheme. Future Motorola Signature phones will simply be numbered after their launch year, so expect a Signature 28 next year and so on.
Software-wise, the Motorola Signature 27 runs on Android 17 out of the box, with seven years of OS and security updates promised. It also leans heavily on Google Gemini.
Beyond the usual assistant duties, Gemini Omni can turn a prompt, photo, or existing footage into an edited video. Meanwhile, Lyria can generate original music and soundtracks directly on the phone.

Motorola Signature 27 Camera Gets a Telephoto Boost
On the imaging side, the main upgrade on the Signature 27 is the telephoto lens. It keeps the same 50 MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor as its predecessor but jumps to a 200 MP periscope telephoto, up from 50 MP.
Motorola is also introducing a Video Enhancement Engine that adjusts colour tones in real time while recording. This works alongside Qualcomm's image stabilisation tech with 3.5° OIS hardware for smoother handheld and walking shots. The ultrawide and front camera details haven't been confirmed yet.
Although the Motorola Signature 27 design was teased recently, we got a much better look at it at the Snapdragon Summit 2026. Motorola is going for a distinct look with an aluminium frame, contoured edges and a camera housing finished in ceramic and brushed aluminium.
It'll launch in two finishes: a woven Pantone Coal Smoke "Tactical Weave" and a softer Pantone Capulet Olive with a brushed textile-inspired back.
The Signature 27 also becomes Motorola's first phone with Audio by Bang & Olufsen, following the two companies' recently announced multi-year partnership. This is also a collaboration that the brand says will extend to more Motorola phones going forward.
Motorola hasn't confirmed pricing, display specs, or an exact launch date, only saying the Signature 27 will arrive in markets worldwide sometime in 2026, with a North America launch teased for the "coming months."
For reference, the current Motorola Signature's price starts at Rs 59,999. Considering the ongoing RAM crisis, expect the Motorola Signature 27 price in India to be set at around Rs 70,000, if not more.
