Nothing has now put a date on its next major software update. The UK-based brand dropped the Nothing OS 5.0 teaser just earlier this week and now, it has officially confirmed when its Android 17-based interface will be unveiled.

Nothing OS 5.0 Launch Date Revealed

The official Nothing X account has shared a teaser confirming that the Nothing OS 5.0 release date is scheduled for August 25, 2026, at 11:00 BST (or 3:30 PM IST).

Nothing hasn't revealed exactly what the update will bring yet, but the teaser offers a few clues. The "More joy, every day" tagline hints at a stronger focus on personalisation, potentially bringing new widgets, icon packs and lockscreen clock styles.

The teaser video also shows animated gradients cycling through different colours, layered with what appears to be a frosted glass effect. This suggests Nothing OS 5.0 could introduce a more colourful and visually dynamic design compared to previous versions.

Interestingly, this appears to align with a Nothing Gallery app update that was rolled out last month. Built around the Nothing OS 5.0 design language, the update introduced live blur behind the navigation bar, refreshed icons and a new font.

So, we can expect to see a similar treatment expanded across the UI. Apart from this, we could also see some new AI features.
