Nothing has opened applications for its latest Community Review Program, and this time around, it's centred on a software release rather than hardware. While the company hasn't specified exactly what is being tested, the eligibility criteria strongly suggest it is early access to Nothing OS 5.0.
According to a post on the Nothing Community forum, applicants need to own a Nothing Phone 3 to be eligible for the "software release". The brand is also looking for those who have a passion or expertise in software and user experience.
Further, the brand states that it is also looking for participants willing to give regular feedback and who understand that beta software can be unstable.
While Nothing hasn't explicitly named the software being tested, the community has been quick to connect the dots. One user pointed out that this mirrors almost exactly what happened last year during early access testing for Nothing OS 4.0, suggesting this is likely Nothing OS 5.0.

Independent tipster accounts on X share the same speculation, further reinforcing that this could be our first real signal of Nothing OS 5.0 approaching testing.

Nothing hasn't confirmed a timeline for when Nothing OS 5.0 itself might roll out more broadly. However, with applications for this review program closing in just a few days, more concrete details could emerge fairly soon.
Besides, since the brand has been hinting at Nothing OS 5.0 "coming soon", it makes sense for it to finally arrive in early access.

Applications are open now and will close on August 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM BST (or 3:30 PM IST), with no exceptions made after the deadline. Those selected will be contacted via email and asked to sign an NDA, along with providing their device's IMEI number.
Nothing has also warned that since this is beta software, it may interfere with data on the device and could require a full factory reset. So, any data not backed up beforehand would be lost. As a result, the brand is recommending that users back up their data before installing anything tied to the program.
