Ai+ launched its smartphones in India a few months ago and one of its standout features was the NxtPrivacy Dashboard. It's a tool designed to allow users to see and control apps from accessing phone data, and it's finally rolling out to AI+ smartphones.

The firm says many apps continue to run in the background without explicit consent, and NxtPrivacy Dashboard aims to make this hidden app activity visible and manageable. Speaking about the rollout, Madhav Sheth, CEO of AI+, said:

Privacy is no longer a privilege. It is a fundamental right for every smartphone user. With NxtPrivacy Dashboard, we are making that right simple and easily accessible by design. For the first time, Indian users can clearly see which apps are using sensitive permissions and take back control with a single tap. This Feature-Tech is crafted for our Indian consumers.

As for what the feature brings to the table, it includes a combination of real-time monitoring, alerts and AI-powered scores.

  • Real-time Monitoring: Tracks which apps are accessing the camera, microphone, location, contacts and clipboard.
  • Instant Permission Control: Allows users to immediately revoke or modify app permissions with a single tap.
  • Smart Alerts: Notifies users of unusual or suspicious activity, such as an app accessing the microphone when the phone is idle.
  • AI-powered Privacy Score: Analyses permissions and provides actionable recommendations to enhance device security.
  • Tracker Pause Mode: Lets users temporarily disable all app trackers, which could be useful when connected to a public Wi-Fi.

While most of these features have already been a part of Android for years, the AI-powered Privacy Score is new and could come in handy to view device security at a glance.

To reiterate, the update with NxtPrivacy Dashboard is rolling out via a software update to Ai+ Nova 5G and Ai+ Pulse 4G smartphones. Users can head over to the Software updates page in settings and tap on Check for updates to install the same and use the feature.
