With One UI 8.5 reaching close to stability, Samsung has already started testing One UI 9 for Galaxy S26 Ultra. With an expected release with the brand's upcoming foldables, One UI 9 is said to bring massive UI overhauls as well as new core Galaxy AI features. Now, a new report has revealed one of the key visual changes coming to One UI 9, specifically with the Media Player.
One UI 9 Could Make Samsung's Media Player More Vibrant
The latest X posts from tipsters Tarun Vats and Rajesh Rajput give us our first look at the redesigned One UI 9 Media Player for Galaxy phones. It looks like Samsung is giving it a more dynamic and colourful look with the seek bar now emulating the colour palette of the album art.

If true, this will replace the current static white seek bar for a more fluid and visually appealing progress bar. The new change in One UI 9 is said to apply everywhere. From the lock screen to the home screen and even inside the Media Player, the seek bar is said to intelligently identify the colours of the album art for a more aesthetic look.
Moreover, based on the images shared by Rajesh Rajput, the same visual change will also be noticeable in the Now Bar. It will also adopt the same real-time dynamic seek bar in both pill and expanded modes.

Apart from the new revamped Media Player in One UI 9, we already knew from previous leaks, Samsung is also testing a new Warranty and Care hub in One UI 9, located in Settings, which aims to offer device support, diagnostics and repair information all in one place.
Besides, One UI 9 Memory Tagging feature is also in active development which might improve RAM allocation and management by Galaxy phones, making them safer and efficient. That said, One UI 9 is expected to go official with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at the upcoming Galaxy unpacked event for foldables.
