OnePlus could be taking its camera game more seriously with the OnePlus 16, as a new leak points to upgrades across all four cameras.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo, the OnePlus 16 will get a new 200 MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor.
If true, this will be a huge step up from the 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera found inside the OnePlus 15. DCS has not mentioned whether the new 200 MP imaging solution will use a Samsung or Sony sensor.

Moving on, the smartphone is also said to bring an upgraded 50 MP periscope telephoto camera, with 3x in-sensor zoom, a 1/1.95-inch sensor size and a flagship Sony sensor. For context, the OnePlus 15 offers a 50 MP Samsung JN5 W-shaped 3x periscope telephoto camera.
As for the ultra-wide-angle lens, the tipster claims the OnePlus 16 is getting a brand-new 50 MP unit. However, the tipster has not mentioned the camera's Field of View, sensor size, or the sensor vendor. The OnePlus 15 uses a 50 MP Samsung OVD50D ultra-wide module.
OnePlus 16 Could Get Autofocus Support in Selfie Camera
Moving on, while it is clear that OnePlus 16 is poised to get a flagship-grade rear camera setup, it turns out the same is true for the selfie camera. DCS claims and clarifies to readers that the OnePlus 16 will feature a 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus support.

If true, this will be a huge upgrade over the OnePlus 15's 32 MP fixed-focus selfie camera. Android smartphone manufacturers usually reserve autofocus support in the selfie camera for their "Pro" and "Ultra" models.
Hence, the OnePlus 16 bringing a selfie camera unit with autofocus support will help the smartphone compete with the top-of-the-line flagships and bring a considerable image quality and focus boost to the selfie camera unit.
