With the OnePlus 16 launching in China today, the focus is shifting to the sub-flagship OnePlus 16R. Latest information reveals the brand is working on the OnePlus 16R, alongside its potential specifications.
OnePlus 16R Could Feature over 7,500mAh Battery
Revealed by prominent tipster Yogesh Brar, the OnePlus 16R's PVT unit (Production Validation Test) reveals he phone's key specifications. For starters, the phone may arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor alongside a 7,500mAh+ battery.

Additionally, OnePlus could retain the 165 Hz display panel to cater to mobile gamers and power users. Optics-wise, the phone could feature a 50 MP camera array, with a telephoto sensor finally returning.
Additionally, the info claims the phone could also launch under the Realme umbrella. However, the name of the device is currently unknown.
While these specifications are compelling, it is worth mentioning that they conflict with the earlier rumours from tipster Debayan Roy. He predicts a much larger 9,000mAh battery, an 185 Hz display and a 200 MP main camera. Additionally, the post mentions OnePlus launching two flagships in India.

As OnePlus prepares to unveil the OnePlus 16 in China today with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, there's no concrete information about its arrival in India.
Some believe the other flagship in question could be the OnePlus 16s, which could be a rebranded OnePlus 16T launching soon in China. However, there's simply too much conflicting information to connect the dots at the moment.

While rumours about OnePlus' potential India exit were strong, the brand rejected them and stated it was here to stay. However, rumoured internal communications revealed the brand will only focus on bringing value for money smartphones in India, while the flagship category will be handled by its parent company Oppo.
Information about OnePlus 16R's India launch is scarce at the moment, but considering OnePlus' launch cadence, the flagship could arrive sometime in December 2026, so stay tuned.
