OnePlus has been known for making value-for-money Android tablets for the Indian market and the recent OnePlus Pad 4 launch is a good example of that. Now, it looks like the brand is about to take on the iPad Mini by launching its first-ever compact tablet with an OLED display in the country very soon.

OnePlus Compact OLED Display Tablet India Launch Could Be Imminent

As per tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, OnePlus is reportedly planning to launch a flagship-level compact Android tablet in India. The biggest upgrade with it is said to be an OLED display, a first for a OnePlus tablet.

Moreover, it will likely feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset inside and will also come with a large 8,000mAh battery, supporting 67W fast USB-C charging.

The screen size is said to be 8.8 inches with 144 Hz refresh rate support. Other than that, the leak claims LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, Android 16 with OxygenOS 16, a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera.

All things considered, there is no doubt that the upcoming OnePlus tablet is a rebranded Oppo Pad Mini which launched in China last month. The leaked specs are identical to the Pad Mini and since OnePlus is a sub-brand of Oppo and has launched rebadged products before, this doesn't come as a surprise.

However, it does make the Indian tablet market more interesting. Currently, the only reliable compact tablet option is the Apple iPad Mini and Apple has not updated it for the past two years. With the growing popularity of compact smartphones, it might seem prudent for OnePlus to also launch a compact tablet and give users a second option.

That said, it is unclear when it will launch. Early speculations point to a Q3 2026 launch window. As for pricing, clearly OnePlus will position it as a premium tablet and the use of an OLED panel will also increase costs. Hence, it could be positioned above the OnePlus Pad 4 in India.
