For a smartphone that launched only a few months ago, the Oppo Find X9s has suddenly become a lot harder to justify, as both its variants are now Rs 5,000 more expensive in India.

As highlighted by tipster Sanju Choudhary on X, the base variant of the Oppo Find X9s with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage now costs Rs 84,999, up from Rs 79,999. Similarly, the higher-end model equipped with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage has jumped from its initial Rs 89,999 price tag to Rs 94,999.

For those unaware, the Oppo Find X9s launched in May 2026 and hasn't received even one price hike since. However, it appears that Oppo couldn't bear the overhead pressure due to the existing RAM crisis and had to ultimately increase the price.

As a refresher on what the phone offers, the Oppo Find X9s brings the Dimensity 9500s chipset and a 7,025mAh battery packed into its slim and compact chassis. Complementing the performance is up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

It features a 6.59-inch 1.5K 120 Hz LTPS AMOLED panel with a maximum peak brightness of 1,800 nits. Camera-wise, the phone comes with a triple 50 MP camera setup, including a wide, ultrawide and telephoto snapper. The front hole-punch is equipped with a 32 MP snapper for selfies.

While Oppo's flagship offerings remain largely unaffected, its mid-range and budget smartphones have had to bear the brunt of the RAM crisis. For starters, phones like the Reno 16, A and K series have all seen price hikes anywhere from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. A more detailed list of smartphone price hikes can be found in our Indian smartphone price hike tracker.

As per a smartphone market predictions by the IDC, the RAM crisis could get worse and is changing the landscape of the smartphone market, especially in developing countries such as India. It is expected to last until 2028, even after which things look pretty grim.

So, if you've been on the lookout for a good compact flagship, this is a good opportunity to get the Find X9s before it gets even pricier and harder to justify.
