Oppo is all set to launch its flagship Find X9 series in India in just a few days. Ahead of that, the brand has announced its latest localised initiative, the Oppo LUMO Lab, which focuses on delivering an authentic camera experience, tailored to the Indian audience.
Oppo Find X9 lineup will sport the Oppo LUMO Lab Imaging System
At the recent Oppo Find X9 series China launch, the brand introduced a LUMO Condensed Light Imaging system. For those unaware, introduced back in 2023, the LUMO Imaging System uses advanced algorithms, computational photography, AI inputs and custom-tuned lenses and sensors to deliver the most accurate true-to-life colour reproduction along with DSLR-level portrait shots.
Now, the same tech will make its way to India via the newly launched Oppo LUMO Lab. It aims to capture and refine India's cultural diversity via collaborative efforts. As part of this initiative, Oppo says that it is bringing industry experts and leading Indian photographers together to focus on three primary key areas – authentic skin tones, vibrant celebrations and intricate textures.

To make this possible, Oppo will work with Indian photographers Joseph Radhik, Ashik Aseem, and Zaid Salman. They will work closely with Oppo's in-house imaging team to fine-tune the camera experience of the Find X9 series in accordance with the Indian skin tones and colour science.
With the introduction of LUMO Labs, Simon Liu, the Global Imaging Director at Oppo said that this initiative is important for the brand to create imaging which is suited to India's diverse landscape. The Find X9 series will become the first of the many future products to incorporate the LUMO Imaging Engine.
LUMO Lab embodies OPPO’s commitment to advancing human-centric imaging tailored to India’s vibrant landscape. Our goal is to understand the unique challenges of the local market and create technology that acts as a creative partner, empowering photographers, creators, and everyday users to express themselves freely. Launching with the Find X9 Series, LUMO Lab marks the beginning of an exciting journey to explore new frontiers in smartphone photography that celebrates India’s rich visual tapestry.

That said, with the Oppo Find X9 series India launch set for November 18, 2025, we will not have to wait long to see what the brand has been cooking behind the scenes for India.
