It has not been six months since the Oppo Reno 15 series dropped, and the Reno 16 lineup is already on its way. Slated to bring the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro, both phones have now been confirmed to launch in China, and it is happening sooner than expected.
Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro China Launch Set for May 25
The official Weibo account of Oppo China has confirmed that the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro will debut in China on May 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM CST (or 3:30 PM IST). Both phones will launch seven months ahead of time and will succeed the Reno 15 series, which launched in November 2025.

Now, while Oppo has not officially shared any info regarding the upcoming phones, a recent Reno 16 series spec leak report has given us a good idea about the smartphones. For starters, the Reno 16 Pro is said to feature a similar 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with symmetrical narrow bezels to that of the Reno 15 Pro.
It will reportedly get powered by the new Dimensity 9500s chipset and feature five RAM and storage options: 12 GB + 256 GB, 12 GB + 512 GB, 16 GB + 256 GB, 16 GB + 512 GB and 16 GB + 1 TB. The phone is also said to feature an increased battery capacity and could launch with a 7,000mAh cell.
As for the standard Reno 16, it could bring a smaller 6.3-inch display compared to the Reno 15's 6.59-inch AMOLED. It could also gain a substantial performance boost with a Dimensity 8,000 series chip, possibly the Dimensity 8500 chipset.

As for the Reno 16 lineup's design, a recently leaked Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro Mini EVT prototype showed off a redesigned camera module, closely resembling the OnePlus 15R. It revealed a squircle camera deco with a pill-shaped black cutout for two cameras, a third circular lens cutout and a circular dual-tone LED flash module.
That said, unlike all the times before, Oppo has not teased much regarding the new Reno smartphones. Given that the phone is launching this week itself, we should see some more details drop in the coming days. So, stay tuned.
