Xiaomi sub-brand Poco has started teasing the Poco M8x 5G India launch. The phone will likely sit below the Poco M8 5G and Poco M8 Power 5G in the lineup in terms of specifications and pricing.
Poco M8x 5G Is "Coming Soon" to India
A dedicated Flipkart microsite is now live for the Poco M8x 5G, the brand's first "Poco M" series phone with the "x" suffix. This was previously reserved for the more budget-friendly "Poco C" series, the latest one being the Poco C85x 5G. The phone is teased as "coming soon", suggesting that its India launch is right around the corner.
Besides that, we also get a glimpse at the design of the Poco M8x 5G. The smartphone is shown in a dark green vegan leather back with what seems like a silver squircle camera deco in the top-left corner. We see a part of a single camera lens alongside what appears to be a microphone on the camera island. The phone appears to have flat sides.
Beyond this, there are no other details available for the Poco M8x 5G. Given that the "x" suffix in Poco phones usually denotes budget, the Poco M8x 5G could be one of the few budget 5G phones launching this year amidst the RAM crisis.
Given that the Poco M8 Power and Poco M8 5G both currently start from Rs 24,999 for the base 6 GB + 128 GB model, the Poco M8x 5G could be priced under Rs 20,000.
As for specs, we expect the phone to offer the usual set of hardware like an LCD display, a big battery, potentially a Unisoc or MediaTek processor and a standard set of cameras. We will know for sure once more official details are shared. So, stay tuned.
