The wave of smartphone price hikes in India continues, and Realme is the latest brand to heavily mark up its portfolio. The latest series of price hikes affects the Realme 16 series, Realme C83 and Realme C100x.
Realme 16 Series, C83, and C100x 4G Just Got More Expensive in India
According to information shared by tipster Sanju Choudhary on X, Realme has increased the retail prices across the Realme 16 series, Realme C83 and Realme C100x by up to Rs 4,000. Realme's upper mid-range smartphones have suffered the steepest price bumps across all the storage variants.
The 8 GB + 128 GB of the Realme 16 Pro+ now costs Rs 53,999 (up from Rs 49,999). That's a Rs 4,000 markup from its previous price and a whopping Rs 14,000 (24%) markup from its original launch price of Rs 39,999.

Realme 16 and Realme 16T are receiving a Rs 1,000 price hike across their storage variants. The base 8 GB + 128 GB Realme 16 variant now costs Rs 36,999 (previously Rs 35,999), whereas the entry-level 6 GB + 128 GB Realme 16T costs Rs 32,999.
Lastly, Realme's budget smartphones Realme C83 and Realme C100x 4G are also seeing a price increase of up to Rs 2,000. The base Realme C83 with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage now costs Rs 18,499 (up from Rs 17,499), whereas the 4 GB + 128 GB and 6 GB + 128 GB variants took a Rs 2,000 hit, now priced at Rs 21,499 and Rs 24,999.
The Realme C100x 4G with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage sees a Rs 2,000 increase, bringing its new price to Rs 16,999 (previously Rs 14,999). Here's a breakdown of the price increase to get a clear idea.

| Realme 16 Pro 8 GB + 256 GB | Rs 46,999 | Rs 43,999 (Rs 3,000 price hike) |
| Realme 16 Pro 12 GB + 256 GB | Rs 49,999 | Rs 47,999 (Rs 3,000 price hike) |

| Realme C100x 4G 4 GB + 64 GB | Rs 16,999 | Rs 14,999 (Rs 2,000 price hike) |
Much like the recent OnePlus price hikes, these weekly increases are quite frustrating for buyers. As the tipster noted, waiting for major seasonal sales like Big Billion Days might not yield massive savings if base prices continue to soar due to the ongoing RAM crisis.
Therefore, those hunting for Realme smartphones will likely need to stretch their budget further than anticipated. The prices are bound to increase further, so users may grab the phones before it's too late.
