The Redmi Note 17 series China launch is set for July 14, 2026. Ahead of next week's unveiling, the brand has now shared the design, display and battery details of the Redmi Note 17, giving us a peek into the standard model of the lineup.
Redmi Note 17 Design Showcased
The official Redmi account on Weibo has revealed the full design of the standard Redmi Note 17 in the Meteor Purple colourway. It features a purple finish with a shooting star-inspired pattern on the rear panel. Redmi says that this new design is made to mimic a "streak of light from the night sky captured in your palm."
The rear panel of the phone also features a squircle camera deco with a pill-shaped cutout, which houses a single rear camera and an LED flash. The "50 MP" branding next to the camera module reveals that the primary rear camera will use a 50 MP lens.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 17 brings a uniform look to the lineup since the Redmi Note 17 Pro also features a similar design language. The phone also features rounded R-corners, with the volume and power buttons on the right side. At the front, the display bezels are uneven, with a noticeably larger bottom chin.
Redmi Note 17 Display and Battery Details Confirmed
Alongside the design, Redmi has also confirmed the battery and display details of the Note 17. The phone will feature a 7-inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits of global peak brightness. This makes it one of the biggest displays on Redmi phones and also the first phone from the brand to launch with a 7-inch screen.

In addition, the phone is confirmed to pack an 8,000mAh battery, paired with 67W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Now, while the brand has not revealed anything else, leaks claim that the Redmi Note 17 will be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. The phone will also run on the HyperOS 3 update based on Android 16 out of the box.
Apart from this, rumours point towards a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max joining the Note 17 and Note 17 Pro. With the Redmi Note 17 series launching next week, thankfully, we won't have to wait for long to know all the details.
