The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G launched in India back in June 2026, running on Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box. Now, the phone is getting its first major update as Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 9 update based on Android 17 to users in India.
Samsung Galaxy M47 Receives Stable One UI 9 Update
The stable One UI 9 update for the Samsung Galaxy M47 arrives with firmware version M476BXXU3BZJ1. Several Galaxy M47 users in India have also confirmed in the Samsung Members community that they have received the Android 17-based update.
As part of the update, here are the key One UI 9 features to the Galaxy M47:
- A more customisable Quick Panel with resizable brightness and volume sliders and a media player.
- Separate button for switching sound modes.
- New Quick Lock option that blocks biometric unlock the next time you unlock your phone. You can turn it on by holding the Volume Down and Side buttons, or by tapping the Power button in the Quick Panel.
- New blue indicator that shows when an app is accessing your location.
- New Warranty and care menu in Settings.
- Redesigned look with customisable home screen cards.
- Faster logging for mood and meals, including camera input.
- New hourly, daily and weekly trend charts.
- Extra features like a daily heart health score, cardio load tracking, a Fitness Index and a Hearing tracker.
- A new Text spotlight feature for enlarged text, plus physical keyboard shortcuts and Select to speak.

Samsung Galaxy M47 users can manually check whether the update is available by following these steps:
- Head over to Settings on your Samsung Galaxy phone
- Tap on Software update
- Next, tap on Download and install
