The Galaxy S26 series comes with One UI 8.5 out of the box, but Samsung has yet to roll it out to its older flagships. While testing has already commenced and has reached final stages for the Galaxy S25 series, new information suggests the Galaxy S24 series may join the party as its One UI 8.5 Beta 1 update is right around the corner.
One UI 8.5 Beta 1 Changelog for Galaxy S24 series
Reliable tipster Tarun Vats posted on X the official changelog of One UI 8.5 Beta 1 for the Galaxy S24 series in India. The leak specifically highlights the firmware build version S928BXXU5ZZCD, confirming that Samsung has the software actively staged for the Indian market and could release it anytime soon.

Historically, a leak like this is a nail in the coffin and serves as a final indicator before Samsung officially opens the beta registration program for the smartphones via the Samsung Members app.
The changelog is quite large, spanning across 10 screenshots, highlighting all the One UI 8.5 features and changes. It includes features like Continuous Image Generation, Perplexity-powered enhanced Bixby experience and Storage Share.
Besides, the build will also bring improvements to Quick Share, more lock screen and Quick Settings customisations, improvements to native apps like Weather and Clock and Android 16 features like enhanced Theft protection. The update could expand AirDrop to the Galaxy S24 series.
Replying to one of the comments in the thread, Tarun noted that the build could be released anytime today via the Samsung Members app. While there's currently no information about Stable release's timeline, we expect the testing to last for a few months before the final release.
More information about the build should surface as we inch closer to its release, so stay tuned. One UI 8.5 Beta is expected to expand further to more phones later down the line.
