We are still a few months away from the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. However, the rumours and leaks are nowhere near ending. This time, a new development has surfaced, giving us a rough idea as to the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 Edge.
Credible tipster Ice Universe took to X to share the battery information on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge. According to the tipster, it is expected to feature a 4,400mAh cell.
This new information is in direct contrast with what we learnt on July 31, 2025, when the battery capacity of the Galaxy S26 Pro and the S26 Edge emerged online.
The battery information I got for the S26 Edge is 4400mAh. There seems to be some conflict here, I will double-check the information.

According to that, the Galaxy S26 Edge (codename M2), bearing model number SM-S947, is supposedly getting a 4,200mAh cell. The tipster has also acknowledged the conflicting information.
Either way, the rated capacity on the Galaxy S26 Edge is definitely getting a jump when compared to the Galaxy S25 Edge. For context, the Galaxy S25 Edge only offers a 3,900mAh cell. This corroborates an earlier report that talked about the Galaxy S26 Edge incorporating a new battery technology for a bigger capacity.
So, with the S26 Edge, Samsung might opt for silicon carbon battery tech, but since they will carry forward the "thin" mantra next year as well, the rated capacity will likely not get a significant jump.

This is because, the new battery tech is capable enough to pack a bigger mAh capacity under a slim form factor. However, is it capable enough to pack a 5,000+ mAh cell inside a smartphone that will supposedly be thinner than 5.8mm? Now, that is the real question.
Apart from this, the device is said to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. It can also feature a QHD+ 120 Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 200 MP main camera.
Besides, a pretty recent leak has also suggested that Samsung is planning a CoE (Colour Filter of Encapsulation) OLED panel on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, making the display not just brighter but also more power efficient. So, we could see the Galaxy S26 lineup flaunting these new panels.
With that said, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch early next year, that is, in January 2026. So, expect to see more details surface in the coming days and months leading up to the launch.
