After rolling out One UI 9.0 stable to Korean Galaxy S26 series users, Samsung has expanded it to India. The update is now reaching Galaxy S26 users who were not previously enrolled in the beta program, signalling a broader public release.
All phones in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, including the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, are receiving One UI 9.0 stable, carrying build number S948BXXU4BZI6. This major update is based on Android 17 and weighs a whopping 4 GB.
While the changelog appears to be quite minimal, it emphasises Galaxy AI features, "new ways to simplify tasks" and "more helpful and intuitive experiences". The update also includes the September 2026 security patch.
Although the changelog mentions only the bare minimum, the update brings a host of additions and improvements. For those unaware, major One UI 9.0 features include Gemini Intelligence and Smarter Now Nudge.
The update also incorporates features like My FanCam, which allows users to lock on to a certain subject in videos, a more customisable Quick Settings panel and a refreshed media player experience, among others. It also adds a dedicated Warranty & Care page in Settings for added convenience.
Galaxy S26 series users in India can check for the new firmware by going to System Settings and opening the Software updates section. There, they can tap Check for updates, and One UI 9.0 Stable should show up. Tapping Download & install will begin the update process.
With the Galaxy S26 series now getting the update, Samsung can focus on pushing stable One UI 9.0 to older flagships like the Galaxy S25 series and S24 series, along with many other One UI 9.0-supported smartphones. The updates should roll out in the coming months through the end of 2026 and the first few months of 2027, so stay tuned.
