Samsung is slowly revealing the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 (most likely the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra) layer by layer. Just a few days back, we learned that the upcoming book-style 'ultra' foldable will be its "thinnest, lightest and most advanced foldable yet." And now, Samsung is giving us a glimpse into its camera, at least from the software side of things.
Samsung took to its official blog to release a short teaser video to talk about the "hardware, software, and AI" integration coming to what might be the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra.
In the teaser, a triple vertical camera setup is noticeable, which is reminiscent of last year's Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, we are not sure if it will have the same pill-shaped camera bump since the teaser is cryptic enough to hide that.

And going by the post, AI will take center stage with the cameras as well. Samsung claims that this harmonious blend between software, AI, and hardware will "redefine mobile photography, empowering users to capture, create and communicate more meaningfully."
To achieve this, Samsung is looking to integrate multimodal AI capabilities within the cameras to help users get useful insights into their surroundings. However, it is unclear whether Samsung will equip its in-house Galaxy AI with these LLMs (Large Language Models) or will rely on third-party services like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini for the same.
By the end of the day, it could simply be Gemini Live's multimodal capabilities. However, since it will arrive with the One UI 8, one can expect to see some hidden tricks up its sleeve.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra Expected Specs
To begin with, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.5-inch cover and an 8.2-inch inner display, respectively. This is in line with Samsung's claim of a thinner, lighter, and more durable book-style foldable.
Under the hood, expect the device to pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. However, some regions might see an in-house Exynos chipset being used with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra. Also, Samsung might finally equip the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra with a 200 MP primary sensor.
Other than that, Samsung has been very cryptic with its teasers, making sure not to give away anything before launch.
All in all, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra will set a new benchmark for Samsung's foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z 7 series will also include the standard Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and the more affordable Z Flip 7 FE.
And as it has been in the past, this year's Galaxy Unpacked event will also see a July showcase window. Although nothing is confirmed as of yet, we expect an official announcement in the coming days.
