Summary

  • A premature listing on Thai website has leaked the Sony WF-1000XM6's full design and price.
  • The earbuds feature matte black design with mesh microphone grills and ergonomic shape.
  • WF-1000XM6 listing points at 11,990 Thai Baht price (roughly Rs 35,000) with ANC and IPX4 rating.

A major slip-up by a Thai retailer has seemingly confirmed the arrival of Sony's next generation flagship truly-wireless earbuds. After launching a pair of new cans, the WH-1000XM6, Sony could be shifting its attention to the earbuds category with  WF-1000XM6 earbuds.

Sony WF-1000XM6 Case and Earbuds Design Leaked

Spotted first by X user Zuby_Tech, Sony's upcoming WF-1000XM6 earbuds were accidentally listed on the Power Buy Thailand website, giving us our first clear look at the device's design and pricing. The page has since then been taken down and is unavailable.

According to the images, the WF-1000XM6 will retain a stealthy aesthetic but introduces notable refinements over its predecessors. The matte finish makes a comeback with a gold Sony logo, just like on the WF-1000XM3s. There are distinct mesh microphone grilles on the exterior, which likely contribute to the noise cancellation and improved call quality.

The shape appears to be slightly more rounded, almost like a pill, and could mean that the earbuds could offer a better ergonomic fit. The goal could be to offer great comfort, something that Sony's LinkBuds lineup offered. Besides, the listing also confirms Active Noise Cancellation, Ambient Sound and an IPX4 rating for water and sweat resistance.

As for the price and availability, the retailer has listed the earbuds at 11,990 Thai Baht (roughly Rs 35,000). While the international pricing may vary, it confirms that the WF-1000XM6 will be a premium offering.

Although the listing showed the earbuds are temporarily out of stock, it suggests the launch is likely around the corner. With the leak appearing on a major retail site, an official announcement from Sony is expected very soon.

We don't know much about the exact specifications and improvements the WF-1000XM6 will bring over the WF-1000XM5, but more should be revealed as we inch closer to launch, so stay tuned.
