Vivo has been teasing its next sub-flagship phones for quite a while and has finally announced that its new S50 series will launch in China next week. The lineup consists of the standard Vivo S50 and a compact flagship, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini.
Vivo S50 Pro Mini will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
Vivo has announced via its official Weibo account that its S50 series will officially launch in China on December 15, 2025, at 7 PM CST (or 4:30 PM IST). The standard Vivo S50 will be a regular, large slab phone, while the Vivo S50 Pro Mini will be a compact flagship smartphone.

As per all the information so far, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. It could be coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The standard Vivo S50 appeared on Geekbench, featuring an older Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Coming to the main difference, the size, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini is expected to boast a 6.31-inch 120 Hz OLED display, while the standard S50 could arrive with a 6.59-inch display. Both smartphones are expected to feature ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors.

Both phones could be equipped with a Sony IM882 periscope telephoto lens. However, the Pro Mini could get a VCS ultra-sensitive main camera, which is a technology Vivo has developed in collaboration with Zeiss for enhanced colour accuracy.
Design-wise, the Vivo S50 comes with a rectangular camera island, while the S50 Pro Mini's design resembles that of the iPhone Air's back design with a horizontal camera bar. The teaser video that Vivo posted on its Weibo account also reveals the colour options Sky Blue, White (marble) and Purple.

As for their India launch, the S series has traditionally made it to India rebadged, and we expect Vivo to do the same with the S50 smartphones. The standard S50 is expected to arrive as the Vivo V70, while the S50 Pro Mini could be dubbed as the Vivo X300 FE. Both smartphones are expected to feature Zeiss branding on their back.
With the China launch less than a week away, the smartphones could launch in India in early 2026. Stay tuned as we will cover more about the potential India launch date as the information surfaces.
