Back in February 2026, the Vivo V70 launched in India in the premium mid-range category with ZEISS-branded cameras and other specs. Now, it looks like the brand is gearing up to launch its successor, the Vivo V80, and the phone could launch very soon.
An exclusive report from tech publication SmartPrix claims that the Vivo V80 will launch in India in the first week of October 2026. The phone is said to be positioned around content creation and could gain features that have previously been "exclusive to Vivo’s higher-end X series".

Moreover, the report claims that the smartphone will get a 50 MP ZEISS Night telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom support. On the surface, the setup seems similar to the 50 MP Sony IMX882 3x telephoto sensor on the Vivo V70.
However, the telephoto camera on the Vivo V80 will reportedly be able to achieve 10x digital zoom in Portrait Mode. This is something that the Vivo V70 can't do. This ability is said to be a first for a "V" series Vivo phone.

Another feature that the Vivo V80 could bring is 4K Cinematic Video recording support. This means that, just like the more premium Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro, the upcoming phone will be able to apply real-time background blur and colour grading in the camera app itself.
The report claims users will get three movie-style options to choose from: Modern Movie, Vibrant and Pastel. As for the rest, the Vivo V80 is said to rock a 6.59-inch 144 Hz AMOLED display, feature a 7,200mAh battery, have an IP69 rating and run on either OriginOS 6 or the upcoming OriginOS 7 update.
That said, Vivo is yet to officially confirm the existence of the Vivo V80. Hence, take the above-mentioned information with a pinch of salt. We should hear official details in the coming weeks. So, stay tuned.
