Xiaomi 17 Global Variant with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Appears on Geekbench AI

The global variant of the Xiaomi 17 has surfaced on Geekbench alongside a potential launch date. The smartphone has already been launched in China, but has appeared on Geekbench with a slightly different SKU number, pointing to an imminent global launch.

Xiaomi 17 could launch in January

While the Xiaomi 17 series launched in China earlier this year, in September 2025, global availability has been pending. That may change soon as the phone was spotted in Geekbench's AI score, and scored an impressive 559 points in single precision, 555 in half precision and 1,261 quantised score.

The Xiaomi 17 spotted on Geekbench bears the SKU number 25113PN0EG. The difference between the Chinese variant and the global one is the "G" in the end, suggesting it's a Global variant. The smartphone appears to boast a top clock speed of 4.61 GHz, which is the clock speed of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

There are six efficiency cores running at 3.63 GHz paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. The entry also reveals that it's running Android 16 and packs 12 GB RAM. Tipster Abhishek Yadav suggests that the global launch is slated for January 2026, while the India launch could happen in February 2026.

Xiaomi 17 global variant on Geekbench with AI scores

Although rumours about Xiaomi 17's India release are quite fresh, as it was recently reported that Xiaomi's India team was not in favour of Poco bringing its flagship Poco F8 Ultra to India. This could mean that Xiaomi might want to launch the Xiaomi 17 in India, but we recommend you take this information with a grain of salt.

As for Xiaomi 17's key features, it boasts a 6.3-inch 120 Hz LTPO AMOLED display that gets as bright as 3,500 nits. The phone features a Leica triple camera setup with a primary 50 MP wide, a secondary 50 MP telephoto and a third 50 MP ultrawide snapper.

Powering the internals is a massive 7,000mAh battery that can charge at 100W via wired and 50W wirelessly. As for the pricing, the phone could be positioned around the same price bracket as the Xiaomi 15, i.e., Rs 64,999 for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant.
