Prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo are gearing up to introduce their next-generation compact and Pro flagships later this year. While the flagship Xiaomi number series, Vivo X series and Oppo Find X series have traditionally maintained an October-November release cadence, new information suggests the phones may launch early this year.

Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo Could Prepone Their Flagship Launches in 2026

According to the details revealed by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi are tracking toward a synchronised launch window this year. Rather than sticking to a late-autumn or year-end release schedule, the brands are expected to push their compact flagships to consumers earlier, around September 2026.

This means that the Xiaomi 18, Vivo X500 and Oppo Find X10 series could all release almost a month earlier than their traditional release windows in China. This could also pull back the timelines of global launches, which could now happen way before the end of 2026.

Thanks to the potential shift, it would also mean that the brands may also get ample time to introduce the Ultra variants a bit early. While it's too early to speculate about the potential specifications of the Ultra variants, we do have a significant amount of info about the upcoming standard compact flagships.

The Xiaomi 18 has been tipped with dual 200 MP cameras and a massive 7,000mAh battery. The phone is rumoured to arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, while the Pro variant of the chipset could be reserved for the Xiaomi 18 Ultra.

As for the Vivo X500, Vivo is expected to skip the X400 due to the number "4" being considered a bad omen. The Vivo X500 is tipped to arrive with Dimensity 9600 and a 7,000mAh battery. The Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro should arrive with a focus on cameras with Zeiss optics and support for Gen 2 Teleconverter Lenses.

And finally, Oppo Find X10 series' key specifications were also tipped recently. The series could arrive with a Dimensity 9500+ chipset, a dual-200 MP rear camera setup and an 8,000mAh battery. The vanilla X10 could get a 6.59-inch AMOLED display as well.

That said, if the information does hold weight, September 2026 will be an exciting month for smartphone fans to look forward to. While the brands haven't confirmed these smartphones directly yet, more information about them should surface as we inch closer to the expected release timeline, so stay tuned.
