Oppo Find X10 Review: Nearly Flawless Flagship Phone

The Oppo Find X10 improves over the last year's model in more ways than one, feeling like a more complete flagship experience even without the Pro or Ultra title. But does it actually deliver? Let's find out in this review

Oppo Find X10 is built for life outside an air-conditioned room. It combines tank-like weather sealing, sharp Hasselblad cameras, and a long battery endurance without feeling like a brick in the palm. The speaker output and hit-or-miss AI tools leave room for improvement, but its stellar display, excellent performance, along with stunning cameras and polished software, deliver a rock-solid, zero-compromise flagship experience without needing to spend the Ultra money.

Pros

  • Compact, grippy design with IP69 rating
  • Gorgeous display with 0.99 mm bezels
  • Flagship-grade performance and thermals
  • Silky-smooth ColorOS 17
  • Excellent battery life

Cons

  • Speakers could have been louder

The base Find X models always seem overshadowed by their stacked Pro and Ultra siblings. But this year's Find X10 has had my attention ever since the first leaks started talking about dual 200 MP cameras, larger batteries, and ultra-thin bezels. So, to test its mettle, I took it for a weekend trip to Rishikesh, and I will share how it actually holds up away from the desk in this Oppo Find X10 review.

I have been using the Glacier Blue colour variant of the Oppo Find X10 for this review, and the phone can be summed up as ergonomic and sturdy. It feels like the right kind of evolution of the Find X9 and Find X9s design, which I already adored.

I seriously love the size of the phone; it's neither too big like the Find X10 Pro Max nor too small, hitting the Goldilocks zone of smartphones. That's why I found it to be the ideal candidate to bring along with me on the scenic weekend trip to the shimmering city of Rishikesh, as the size made it easy to keep pulling it out of my pocket to capture the poster-like beauty of the valleys and mountain ranges around the city.

Oppo has clearly paid some attention to ergonomics. During my Oppo Find X10 review period, I found the device to be quite comfortable to hold. The textured matte glass back ensures a secure grip, which mattered a lot while trekking, giving me a sense of security. There were several times this phone could have slipped out of my hand and met an early demise down a steep hill, yet it never did.

I also couldn't help myself and held it under the milky white showers of Patna Waterfall to capture some underwater shots, and the IP68 and IP69 ratings meant I could do that without worrying about the phone dying on me. So in terms of design and build, it is a really solid package.

Coming to the display, it seems like Oppo has carved out every millimetre of bezel it can, leaving equally thin 0.99 mm bezels on all sides. It is easily one of the best display phones I have tested in the past few months besides the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

It gets plenty bright outdoors, which was necessary as I often had to check Google Maps under harsh sunlight to make sure I didn't lose my way among the mountains. The display quality is just as serene. Colours lean towards vivid hues by default, which I prefer, but you can switch to the Natural profile for more accurate tones.

Having caught the ongoing Malfoid fever, I rewatched the first two Harry Potter movies during my Find X10 review period, and the picture quality was impressive. The bright, whimsical moments at Hogwarts had a slightly warm look, while the dark Chamber of Secrets still held plenty of detail, with deep blacks and decent contrast overall.

Oppo has also put some effort into the audio department. Effects don't feel compressed against the vocals, and there is an enjoyable amount of depth, though the loudness is nowhere close to what we noticed in our Oppo Find X9 review.

Performance Tested

  • MediaTek Dimensity 9600M processor
  • Up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM + 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage

For performance, Oppo has outfitted the Find X10 with the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M chipset, a subtle rebrand of last year's Dimensity 9500, and I am not complaining. It is still a powerful, flagship-grade chipset, and the benchmark results prove it.

In everyday use, whether scrolling social media, browsing the web or watching videos, the performance was as smooth as it gets, and some credit goes to the software, which I will get to in a second.

During my trip, I pushed it further, recording 4K @ 60 FPS video with the phone mounted on my bike while running Google Maps. It did drain the battery, but the phone never once felt choppy or stuttery. It is something I complained about in my Pixel 11 Pro Fold review, a phone that costs twice as much, so it was surprising to see the Find X10 not repeat the same issues.

Playing Genshin Impact on the Oppo Find X10

Even in gaming, I didn't have to brace my expectations. BGMI runs at 120 FPS on Smooth settings. Call of Duty: Mobile supports 144 FPS, the phone's maximum refresh rate, on Low and Medium settings; and Genshin Impact runs at 60 FPS on Max graphics. All three games stayed glued to their top FPS.

There were very minor frame drops here and there, nothing that would hamper the gameplay experience. I also noticed during my Find X10 review period that even after an hour of playing each title, or recording hours of 4K Dolby Vision footage at 60 FPS, the phone barely got warm.

Let's talk about the software, because that is the real deal here. The Find X10 runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17, and Oppo has somehow improved on their already great software experience. It is incredibly smooth, with every interaction paired with an elastic animation and crisp, satisfying haptics.

ColorOS 17 heavily leans on a visual design similar to Apple's Liquid Glass, with transparent elements across the quick settings, recents, app folders, home screen search bar, lock screen and even widgets, but with a distinctly ColorOS spin on it.

Xiaomi's HyperOS and Vivo's OriginOS have also attempted the same, but Oppo's ColorOS is certainly the best out of those skins.

Apps are quick to launch, thanks to the new Aurora Engine, which Oppo says cuts app startup time and runtime memory usage by 25%, while the new Tidal Engine handles resource scheduling. Even a game I hadn't opened in over a day stayed in memory, ready for me to jump back in without any loading screens.

There are tonnes of AI features too, like MindSpace, which I have covered in detail in my OnePlus AI features list. To keep things short, I will focus on one called OSee. It is Oppo's take on Visual Intelligence and Google Lens, identifying objects in an image and surfacing relevant information about them, like nutritional details for the food I point it at.

It is a hit and miss because it will accurately show easy-to-identify items like a plate of peanut butter toast. But when I present a plate of South Indian thali, it gets confused and is unable to provide an accurate result. Hopefully, this will get ironed out in later updates, but it is still a neat feature to play around with.

The Find X10 packs two 200 MP cameras, which is no small feat. Plus, there's a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 50 MP ultra-wide selfie camera on the front too. So, with such a loaded camera setup, I was well equipped to capture Rishikesh's valleys, rivers and waterfalls. Let me show you how it performed.

Main Camera – Daylight Shots

The 200 MP main camera is a delight in daylight. The greens of the valleys and the blues of the Ganga came out with just the right amount of saturation that I could share them on my socials without any touch-ups.

And there is plenty of detail when you zoom into the shots, whether it is the texture on the building of Dev Prayag or the leaves on the trees along the trekking trail. Dynamic range is excellent, as the camera handled the bright sky and the shaded valleys in the same frame without blowing out either. Seriously, the image quality is so good that I have even set up some of these images as my desktop wallpaper.

The 2x crop is sharp enough for everyday use, and it quickly became my go-to for portraits, with natural edge detection and a pleasant background blur.

Main Camera – Night Shots

Even at night, the camera quality did not disappoint. The shots hold on to detail well and keep noise in check, though bright light sources like the lamps in Ganga Arti or the figures outside the temples can bloom a little. But in all of these images, the contrast was seriously good, and if it wasn't for that, some of these photos would have come out very bland and flat.

Telephoto Camera

The 200 MP periscope telephoto is what sealed the deal for me. It allowed me to capture distant temples on the hillsides and the peaks around Manikoot with impressive clarity, and the high resolution means you can crop in further without the image falling apart.

Just look at some of the shots of the stray cat bathing in the morning sun, the beautiful sunset, or the Haridwar valley. Every detail is where it needs to be, and the colours are in sync with the main camera. So I never had to put in extra thought when switching lenses.

In low light, it does lose some sharpness, but the shots remain perfectly usable for social media.

Ultrawide Camera

The 50 MP ultrawide was perfect for fitting in sweeping views of the mountains and the full drop of Patna Waterfall. The colour tuning stays consistent with the main camera, and the autofocus means it also doubles as a capable macro camera.

I did notice some warping effect around the edges, especially when I had to capture some quick shots, but the overall quality was very neat. Of course, it takes a hit in terms of details compared to the Main and Telephoto cameras. But it isn't a major drop off and I liked shooting with it quite a lot.

At night, the details do take a hit, and the phone tries to compensate with oversharpness, which I didn't like at all.

Selfie Camera

Selfies from the 50 MP front camera come out sharp, with natural skin tones and no aggressive beautification. Thanks to the wider field of view, both close-up selfies and group shots with my friend at the top of the trek stayed in focus, while also allowing us to include the backdrop as well.

Portraits are also good from the selfie cam, but they do look a little too artificial compared to the ones taken from main and telephoto lenses. But the edge detection was mostly accurate.

Video Quality

The Find X10 can record up to 8K @ 30 FPS, but I stuck to 4K @ 60 FPS with Dolby Vision for most of my trip. With the phone mounted on my bike, the footage stayed impressively stable, and the colours were vivid and true to the scenery. Low-light video holds up well too, with only a little noise creeping into the shadows.

Battery Life and Charging

  • 8,000mAh battery capacity
  • 80W wired charging
  • 50W wireless charging (only on supported chargers)

The Oppo Find X10 is an 8,000mAh battery phone and can easily push over a day. During my Oppo Find X10 review period, I averaged around 8.5 hours of screen-on time. That included gaming, watching reels and movies, taking calls, navigating, shooting videos and capturing the view from the top of the hill.

To charge this huge battery, Oppo ships the compact flagship with an 80W adapter, which took the phone from 0–50% in 35 minutes and to 100% in 1 hour 46 minutes.

Oppo Find X10 Review Verdict: Should You Buy It?

The Oppo Find X10 is a proof that you don't always need to get the Pro Max or the Ultras. This base model does more than enough for everyday needs, whether it was an enjoyable viewing experience or stunning samples without missing any crucial details or lasting me all day long.

The gaming experience was nothing short of top-notch, and the software experience will have you addicted to it. It isn't perfect, since the speakers could have been louder and the camera processing could take less time.

But even with that, and given the rising price of smartphones, I feel this is the flagship phone that makes the most sense for everyone. If you want a phone that fits in your pocket without giving up on camera quality, battery or performance, the Find X10 should be at the top of your list.
