Oppo launched the ColorOS 17 update in China last month, and the global unveiling is set for October 13, 2026. However, the ColorOS 17 Open Beta programme is now live in India for select OnePlus and Oppo phones, giving eligible device owners an early taste of what's coming.

The news was shared by OnePlus' Head of Global Community, Yash J on X. At the time of writing, the ColorOS 17 Open Beta update is available for the following phones in India:

For OnePlus users, this is a big moment. OnePlus recently retired OxygenOS in favour of ColorOS globally. So, moving forward, OnePlus phones will follow a unified software path and will receive ColorOS updates, the same as Oppo phones.

How to Apply for ColorOS 17 Open Beta in India
The above-mentioned ColorOS 17 eligible devices can download the Open Beta update by following the below-stated steps:
- Make sure your phone is running the latest stable software.
- Open the Settings app and go to Software & update > Software update.
- Here, tap on the 3-dots icon at the top right and select Beta program.
- Select ColorOS 17 Open Beta, accept the terms and tap on Apply.
