Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor in late 2023 to cater to the mid-range segment. It came with an 8-core Kryo CPU and an Adreno GPU, manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process node. That said, does this mid-range chipset make sense in 2025? To find out, we tested the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 on several benchmarks, including AnTuTu, Geekbench, 3DMark, and more.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 AnTuTu Score
AnTuTu Benchmark | Score |
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 AnTuTu Score | 878,434 |
CPU | 272,842 |
GPU | 263,942 |
Memory | 150,993 |
UX | 190,657 |
In the AnTuTu benchmark, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored a total of 878.43K points. Its 8-core Kryo CPU got a modest score of 272.84K points, and the Adreno 720 GPU achieved 263.94K points. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 was released in 2023 so it's about two years old now. In that sense, the performance is good enough for a mid-range smartphone.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Geekbench Score
Geekbench 6 CPU | Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 |
Single-core | 1,140 |
Multi-core | 3,021 |
Next, in the Geekbench 6 CPU test, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored 1.14K in single-core tasks and 3.02K in multi-core tasks. Since it lacks a high-performance prime core, it relies heavily on older Cortex-A715 and Cortex-A510 cores, which deliver a decent level of CPU performance. You should not expect groundbreaking CPU performance from this chipset.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 CPU Throttling Test
CPU Throttling Test | Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 |
Maximum Score | 275,299 GIPS |
Average Score | 245,566 GIPS |
Minimum Score | 188,304 GIPS |
Throttling Percentage (Higher is better) | 73% |
Now, coming to the 15-minute CPU Throttling test, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 sustained its peak CPU performance for much longer with impressive stability. For a straight eight minutes, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 held its peak CPU performance without throttling the clock speeds. Overall, it throttled to 73% of its maximum performance, delivering great stability even under heavy stress.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 3DMark Score
3DMark Wild Life Stress Test | Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 |
Best Loop Score | 5,419 |
Lowest Loop Score | 5,391 |
Stability | 99.5% |
Now, to test the graphics performance of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, we ran the 3DMark Wild Life Stress test, which is moderately taxing on the GPU. In this test, the Adreno 720 GPU performed superbly well, achieving the best loop score of 5.41K points with a remarkable stability of 99.5%. Even after multiple runs, the GPU didn't lose its performance, which means you can do gaming at medium settings for longer sessions.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 Speedometer 3.0 Score
In the Speedometer 3.0 benchmark, which measures web browsing responsiveness and JavaScript performance, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored 11.2 points. For a budget processor, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 delivered solid performance. Basically, for web browsing, this processor should offer a smooth experience.

The Verdict
To conclude, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is a decent processor with good performance and excellent efficiency. However, it's two years old now, so I won't recommend this chipset in 2025, given that there are many better options now. For a mid-range device, the upgraded Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is the perfect choice, which offers solid all-around performance while maintaining great efficiency.
