Google has been testing Android 17 QPR1 since before the release of the Android 17 stable update, steadily refining the update through multiple beta builds. Now, Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 is rolling out as the final update to the Android 17 QPR1 Beta saga with a host of bug fixes and tiny new features.

Android 17 QPR1 Beta Reaches Platform Stability

Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 is now rolling out to all Google Pixel phones starting with Pixel 6, and bears the build number CP31.260618.005. The release brings a few new user-facing improvements as well as bug fixes before the major release.

First off, we have a new Settings icon and an updated wallpaper picker menu. Besides, Health Connect can now track distance and calories. But more importantly, Android 17 QPR1 has reached platform stability, meaning app developers can now update their apps without the fear of them breaking in future updates.

A few bugs have also been fixed, including one where users were unable to select multiple spell checker languages. Besides, an issue where volume rockers failed to turn off the alarm in the Clock app has also been fixed.

Another bug where rapidly swiping through the media carousel caused glitches in the Quick Settings layout has been addressed. A few other fixed issues include app crashes due to WindowManagerGlobal and a generic default SSID being displayed instead of the saved custom name in the Wi-Fi hotspot.

With Android 17 QPR1 Beta testing finally coming to an end, the version has so far introduced a host of new features, including Desktop Mode enhancements, an Overhauled Game Dashboard, Screen Reactions, Media Player Carousels and Quick Settings Tile Locking. The previous Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5 update introduced Gemini Intelligence branding on supported Pixel phones.

For those who have tested Android 17 QPR1 Betas, the final update could arrive later this month or in early August 2026. Those who still want to test the version can enrol their Pixels via the Android Beta website, and then go to Settings > System > Software update to receive the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 update.
