Apple launched the iPhone 17 series a few weeks ago, and the phones go on open sale today. The series's immense popularity was evident at the BKC Apple store today, where massive crowds lined up, creating a frenzied atmosphere and organised chaos.
iPhone 17 goes on sale in India and chaos erupts
The crowds at Apple BKC featured a live demonstration of all human interaction protocols failing to load as a massive fight broke out among the supposed good Samaritans waiting to get their hands on the shiny new iPhone 17 series.

From the videos that have surfaced, it is believed to have started due to a disagreement in queue etiquette. The early morning mania was interrupted by security personnel's prompt intervention, and no injuries were reported. The crowd's focus then immediately returned to acquiring the "new" iPhone 17, which looks suspiciously like the iPhone 16 already in their pockets.

So why the passion? To Apple's credit, the upgrades are on paper. The Apple iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max boast a better telephoto lens capable of reaching up to 8x (vs 5x on the 16 Pro). The Apple A19 Pro Geekbench scores show significant performance improvements, especially in the GPU department.
While the pre-orders start shipping today, the iPhone 17 series should also go on open sale on Apple's official store. For those who want to avoid getting stomped and score the iPhone 17 for cheaper, they can wait and walk into their nearest Apple stores or resellers later on.
