Summary
- A new leak suggests that the iPhone 17e will feature the same design as that of its predecessor.
- Apple's upcoming budget phone is tipped to come with the same display with notch cut-out for Face ID like the iPhone 16e.
- The iPhone 17e will, however, feature internal upgrades like the Apple A19, MagSafe support, and in-house C1X modem and N1 wireless chips.
Apple is expected to debut its next affordable iPhone sometime this month and it's none other than the highly anticipated iPhone 17e. However, unlike last time when renders and leaks were all out on the iPhone 16e, there's not much known about the iPhone 17e until now.
Vital information about the iPhone 17e has now just dropped, thanks to a leak from Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo. The leaker says Apple's upcoming budget phone will be made from the same mold as the iPhone 16e besides one significant change – Apple A19 processor.
Because of the unchanged mold, the iPhone 17e will carry the same display and hardware features as that of its predecessor. This means, the display will use the same notch cut-out for Face ID, thus missing out on the Dynamic Island that recent iPhones have moved towards.

The leak follows Mark Gurman's recent Bloomberg report which emphasises that iPhone 17e won't come with any visual upgrades, focussing solely on minor internal changes. On that matter, besides including the Apple A19 chipset from the iPhone 17, the upcoming device will also incorporate MagSafe support onto the back panel.
Internally, the iPhone 17e will get network support from the Apple C1X modem and Apple N1 Wi-Fi chip. As hinted earlier, iPhone 17e's pricing is expected to match that of last year's iPhone 16e, so it could start at $599 (approximately Rs 54,500). Apple is tipped to host the iPhone 17e launch on February 19, 2026 and the latest report from Gurman establishes the same.
