The newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max bring a much-needed upgrade to charging speeds, making them the fastest-charging iPhones to date.
The Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are confirmed to charge much faster with 50% in 15 minutes using a 60W adapter.
That's half the time advertised for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max to go from 0 to 50% using a 35W charger (40W max). This makes the iPhone 18 Pro series the fastest-charging Apple iPhones ever produced.
Therefore, buyers can pretty much let go of the fear of charging larger batteries because the charging speeds more than make up for it. Beyond fast wired charging, the iPhone 18 Pro series also retains 25W Qi2.2 wireless magnetic charging.
While Apple hasn't revealed the exact battery capacities of either variant, the increase in numbers is pretty significant compared to the last generation. For example, the iPhone 18 Pro Max can stream videos for a whopping 45 hours on a single charge, which is quite an improvement over the 39 hours on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
That said, battery life isn't the only area the iPhone 18 Pro clinches victory in. Comparing the iPhone 18 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the iPhone 18 Pro Max gets much better optics with a variable-aperture main camera with Pro Controls, an upgraded A20 Pro chipset with vastly better performance and a better Apple C2 modem, among other things.
iPhone 18 Pro series will be up for pre-order on September 12, 2026 and will officially go on sale starting September 18, 2026. Until then, stay tuned.
