Apple is known for keeping the design and specifications of its upcoming iPhones under wraps until launch. However, a major cybersecurity breach at Tata Electronics, one of Apple's manufacturing partners in India, has reportedly exposed confidential documents related to the iPhone 18 Pro. Among the leaked files is fresh evidence suggesting that the next-generation Pro models could arrive with a noticeably smaller Dynamic Island.
Tata Data Breach Hints at Smaller Dynamic Island for iPhone 18 Pro

The Tata Electronics breach has resulted in over 200,000 files surfacing on the dark web, including details about the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and the iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Now, an X user, @madeby_ldt, has posted screenshots of one of the leaked files that contains a CT scan of the iPhone 18 Pro's front-facing hardware. It suggests Apple has repositioned the infrared flood illuminator from the centre of the TrueDepth camera system to one side. This leaves only the front camera and Face ID sensor within the main display cutout, potentially allowing Apple to significantly shrink the Dynamic Island's width.
While it is all but confirmed, we are still treating it as a rumour, as with any other leak. However, it does line up with an earlier leak that showed the iPhone 18 Pro Max dummy unit featuring a smaller Dynamic Island.
It is quite likely that Apple might be attempting to reduce the Dynamic Island's size on the upcoming iPhones, as it has remained largely the same since the iPhone 14 Pro series launch in 2022.
Earlier today, leaked CT scans also revealed that the iPhone 18 Pro vapour chamber will be huge, making room for better thermals. Since the 2nm Apple A20 Pro chipset is expected to be powering the upcoming Pro models, this may be to accommodate that very chipset.
That said, we are still awaiting some official confirmation from Apple itself before confirming its arrival on the iPhone 18 Pro series. It is also worth questioning whether the Pro series will get the smaller Dynamic Island or if it will also come to the base iPhone 18, releasing sometime next year.
