BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has introduced a new affordable plan in its prepaid recharge portfolio. The state-run provider has silently added a new Rs 202 prepaid plan for subscribers who need limited voice and data usage over an extended period.
Currently available across all telecom circles in the country, the Rs 202 tier grants users 32 days of active service validity. During this period, subscribers receive 300 minutes of voice calling and 100 SMS. Additionally, the plan includes BSNL's free insurance coverage of up to Rs 1 lakh.

On the data front, the plan includes 5 GB of internet access. Once this Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit is exhausted, the network speed is throttled to a basic 40 Kbps. Users can activate this new voice voucher directly through the official BSNL website or the BSNL Self Care mobile app.
For customers requiring significantly more data and unrestricted communication, BSNL's existing Rs 247 Special Tariff Voucher remains a strong alternative.
While slightly more expensive and boasting a shorter 30-day validity, it bundles 50 GB of 4G data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 daily SMS. It also credits Rs 10 of main account talk time.
This plan sits below BSNL's Rs 225 plan, whose price was raised indirectly by cutting its validity down from 30 to 28 days. In comparison, the Rs 202 plan serves as an interesting middle ground for those who're certain about their lower usage limits, helping them to be frugal.
However, it's worth noting that all of these plans throttle internet speeds to 40 Kbps upon reaching heir respective FUP data caps. Therefore, those looking to avoid that might have to opt for plans with higher data allowances, which will come at a higher price.
