Google has announced a new tier called AI Plus, which brings some of the features from the AI Pro plan but with lower storage and an affordable price tag.
The Google AI Plus plan is now available in Indonesia, but it will soon roll out to more countries. The plan is aimed at developing countries, and could fill the rather large gap between the free and AI Pro tiers. It costs 75,000 Indonesian rupiah a month (approximately Rs 400)
The firm says "a cost-effective way to experience Google AI". Despite being much affordable than the AI Pro plan, users still get access to Gemini 2.5 Pro. Here's what users get with the plan:
- Gemini 2.5 Pro (in the Gemini app and AI Mode)
- Veo 3 Fast
- 200 GB cloud storage
- Google Flow (200 credits)
- NotebookLM
- Gemini in Google Workspace
Google hasn't highlighted the exact number of prompts users get. For those unaware, the AI Pro plan gives 100 prompts a day, while free users get 5 prompts a day. The firm is yet to add the new AI Plus plan and its limits to its Gemini app limits page, but it could be updated very soon.
The plan also includes access to Google's Veo 3 Fast video generation model, which can generate videos with audio. They also get access to Whisk, a larger 128K context window and Google Flow with 200 credits. Lastly, the plan includes 200 GB of Google One storage.
Google's AI Plus support page is live. It describes the benefits of the plan in brief, while also mentioning that eligible users can get a 50% discount on the Google AI Plus plan for the first 6 months. Although we don't know if the same offer will make it to India.
India pricing is currently unknown, but considering the AI Plus plan sits between the Free and Pro tiers, a price of Rs 299 a month feels like a sweet spot. Considering the plan is meant for emerging countries, an India rollout could be imminent. Stay tuned as we will cover AI Plus' India rollout in detail.
