After weeks of industry speculation and hardware leaks, Google has pulled the curtain back on Fitbit Edge. The fitness tracker has been announced in the US with a myriad of Fitness and nifty features to help users get through the day.
Fitbit Edge Specifications and Features
Starting with the design, the fitness tracker doesn't try to reinvent the wheel with its pebble-shaped chassis that's available in different colours to match the bands.

The left side of the tracker is clean, but the right side hosts a power button alongside what looks like a microphone hole. There's a 1.34-inch AMOLED panel at the front, and the entire package weighs just 17.7 grams.
Under the hood, the Fitbit Edge is packed with features for fitness enthusiasts. The device features built-in GPS to track your runs and connects to your phone via Bluetooth 5.4, with support for over 40 distinct workout modes. The tracker runs on an Ambiq AP5 MCU chip with 64 MB of memory.

The health tracking experience is handled by the Google Health app, which is powered by Gemini for personalised health tracking. Fitbit Edge can measure heart rate, skin temperature, sleep, cardiac load, menstrual cycles and look out for atrial fibrillation.
Additionally, the screen allows users to read notifications from their phones without taking them out of their pockets. The tracker boasts Google Maps integration to guide users to their destination, alongside the ability to control media playing on the phone.

Endurance-wise, the built-in 65 mAh battery offers up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. The tracker also sports a 5 ATM and IP68 resistance rating for protection against water and dust. As for compatibility, like the Fitbit Air, it supports both Android and iOS.
