A new Pixel Drop has been a long time coming, with Google testing a myriad of new features that improve Pixel user experience across the board. Supported Pixels are now receiving the June Pixel Drop alongside the Android 17 stable release, bringing a host of new features spread across Gemini, Multitasking, Calls and multimedia editing.

June Pixel Drop Released for Google Pixel Phones

Initially rolled out in Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4, the June Pixel Drop for Google Pixel phones brings real-time screen reactions in the screen recording tool. Users can now use the front camera to record themselves and overlay on the screen while recording the screen.

This should eliminate the need for using multiple apps for screen reactions. The feature also allows users to resize their overlay and move it around for added flexibility.

Then there are improvements to multi-tasking with the Bubbles feature. Initially known as the Bubble Anything feature, this was introduced in Android 17 Beta 3 and allows users to jump back and forth between apps easily by minimising them into bubbles that stick at the sides of the screen. This makes multitasking much easier.

It cannot be a Pixel drop without some Gemini additions. Gemini Omni, which Google announced at I/O 2026, is now rolling out and lets users combine text, images and videos to create a video.

Besides, users can now also create custom tracks with lyrics by describing or uploading a photo. Gemini-powered Ask Photos is now available in more regions, including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.

Google is also expanding its ever-so-popular Pixel calling features to more phones and countries. For starters, Call Voice Translate, which Google announced with the Pixel 10 series, is now available on the Pixel 10a. Take a Message and Manual Call Screen are now available on Pixel phones in India.

Lastly, Google has teased that the Magic Cue will get smarter and will be supported soon in apps like Snapchat. This falls in line with recent reports, which suggested that Google plans to open Magic Cue for third-party developers. Lastly, AirDrop on Quick Share now works on Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a smartphones.

And those are all the new features rolling out to Pixel smartphones in the June Pixel feature drop. These arrive on top of existing Android 17 features, which there are many, and help greatly improve the overall Android experience.
