Google is readying a new smartwatch for launch, the Pixel Watch 5 and ahead of its expected August launch, leaks have started pouring in. A few days ago, a scuba diver discovered the Pixel Watch 5 on the ocean floor, in what is one of the craziest leaks of 2026. It has now been spotted on an official certification website, hinting at an imminent launch.
Google Pixel Watch 5 Enters BIS Certification
First spotted and reported by tech publication SmartPrix, the upcoming Pixel Watch 5 has now been listed by Google on the official Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website. It shows June 1, 2026, as the listing date and carries four unique model numbers - G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD and GFW3R.

For those unaware, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the official governing body responsible for standardising, marking and quality certifying goods before they are officially introduced in the Indian market. Every smartphone or tech product that launches in the country has to pass BIS certification before it can go live.
Hence, the Google Pixel Watch 5 landing on the BIS website suggests that it is going to launch in India very soon. As per current leaks, it is expected to be identical to the Pixel Watch 4 in terms of design and core features like IP68 rating, 45 mm size, sleep tracking, SpO2 monitoring, heart rate tracking, UWB and EDA.
It is also expected to become the first smartwatch to run the WearOS 7 update out of the box. There are also rumours of Google shifting away from the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor for a custom-built Tensor chipset, which is said to be more efficient and adept at running Gemini Intelligence features.
So, it will be interesting to see what the Pixel Watch 5 has to offer when it finally launches in August 2026. We are expecting more Google Pixel Watch 5 leaks to surface in the coming days, so stay tuned.
