Himanshu Tandon has stepped down from his role as the Vice President of Business at CMF by Nothing after a brief stint. His departure comes after CMF halted its 2026 smartphone releases and has started focusing on accessories and new product categories amid the ongoing RAM crisis.
Himanshu Tandon Exits CMF as the Brand Halts 2026 Smartphone Roadmap
Himanshu took to his official X account to announce that he has decided to move on from Nothing to focus on helping build the next generation of Indian technology companies. For those unaware, Tandon was appointed as the Vice President of Business for CMF after stepping down as Poco India's Country Head back in August 2025.
During his tenure, he played a key role in establishing CMF as an independent brand in India and expanding its presence in the affordable consumer tech segment. He also helped peddle the budget-friendly CMF Phone 2 Pro, including a few collaborations with local brands like Gully Labs to launch CMF-themed sneakers. We also saw CMF expand its smartwatches and earbuds under his leadership.

Tandon's resignation comes right after Nothing Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis announced that the CMF Phone 3 Pro launch has been paused for this year due to the ongoing RAM crisis.
This makes more sense, since the Nothing Phone 4b is launching next week in India and global markets. It appears the brand may have chosen to release the device under the Nothing branding instead of CMF, likely to avoid positioning a relatively expensive smartphone under its budget-focused sub-brand.

While CMF's smartphone roadmap is temporarily on hold, the brand will continue to expand its ecosystem. Akis also talked about CMF potentially introducing new categories beyond just earbuds and smartwatches.
As for Himanshu's next move, he says that he looks forward to partnering with Indian founders to help them build world-class products, ending with the note "One Chapter Ends. The Mission Continues".
However, rumours suggest that he has already drawn interest from other consumer technology brands looking to expand their presence in India. We should soon have an update on his next official destination, so stay tuned.
