Just hours before the Honor Magic 9 series launch in China, the top-tier Honor Magic 9 Pro Max's AnTuTu V12 score has surfaced. The benchmark test revealed jaw-dropping numbers, even more so than the upcoming OnePlus 16, giving users a sneak peek at what to expect in terms of performance.
Honor Magic 9 Pro Max Breaches 5.5 Million on AnTuTu V12
The official AnTuTu Weibo account shared the scores and based on that, we see the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max carrying the model number WKL-AN80. The phone scored 5,524,187 points in AnTuTu V12, which is a considerable difference of about ~140,000 points compared to the OnePlus 16 AnTuTu score that surfaced last week.
For those unaware, the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The benchmarked model was running top-of-the-line 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage alongside Android 17. Additionally, the UX test reveals the phone will boast a 120 Hz display.
A detailed breakdown reveals the smartphone scored 1,452,764 points on the CPU front, 2,081,549 points in GPU, 736,389 in memory and 1,253,485 points in user experience. The points breakdown is quite similar to the OnePlus 16, but the main difference appears to be in the user experience.
The exact reason for this lower user experience score is unknown, but software optimisations may have a huge part to play.
While the benchmark doesn't reveal any other key specifications, a lot is known about the Magic 9 series, thanks to tipsters. For starters, the Magic 9 Pro Max is expected to arrive with a 6.8-inch LTPO 1.5K 120 Hz OLED display, powered by an 8,800mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 80W wireless charging.
A 1:1 square front camera could be the other main highlight of the camera. It's expected to be a 55 MP unit. The rear cameras, on the other hand, are expected to be a 200 MP main 1/1.28-inch sensor alongside a 50 MP ultrawide and a 200 MP 1/1.4-inch Periscope unit.
With the launch set for later today, more information about the smartphone and its siblings, the Honor Magic 9 and Magic 9 Super Edition, should be revealed during the event. Stay tuned for all the updates.
