On November 17, 2025, Huawei confirmed that the next-gen folding phone, Mate X7 is launching next week in China. However, no additional details were shared regarding the smartphone. Now, it has been officially teased along with some key details.
Huawei's Mate X7 is marketed as sleek and strong
Huawei posted a 48-second video on Weibo revealing the design and the durability of the Mate X7. The smartphone follows the same sleek profile as that of the Mate X6, with its curved frame and rounded corners. In fact, it appears to be slimmer than the last-gen model, judging from the video.

Also, just like the Mate X6, the upcoming foldable features a large camera cutout at the top. It now has a semicircular deco with four sharp corners. The back appears to be made out of glass, but it is too early to say. All-in-all, Huawei is sticking to familiar looks with the Mate X7.
However, the biggest highlight of the video is the durability of the smartphone. The Mate X7 is going to become the first phone to feature a dual IP rating. It is officially IP58 and IP59 rated for dust and water resistance.

Moreover, the video has also shown several extreme stress tests conducted on the Mate X7 to show its level of resistance against materials. For instance, there is a frame where hot water at 80°C was sprayed continuously on the smartphone.
So, this year Huawei is focusing big on durability with the Mate X7. As for the other specs, the smartphone will feature a triple rear camera setup, complete with a main camera, an ultra-wide lens and a periscope camera. Early leaks claim that all three lenses could be 50 MP in resolution.

Also, Huawei has four vibrant colour options available for the Mate X7 – Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue and Cloud White. Aside from that, early leaks hint at a 7.95-inch UTG (ultra-thin glass) screen, the Kirin 9030 chipset and HarmonyOS 9.0.
That said, since the smartphone is going official in just a week, we can expect to hear more official details soon. Keep a close watch at Beebom Gadgets for the official coverage of the upcoming foldable.
